Slim Dusty (1927-2003)

Slim Dusty, born David Gordon Kirkpatrick, was a renowned Australian country music singer-songwriter and guitarist. Born in Nulla Nulla Creek near Kempsey in New South Wales, Dusty spent a significant part of his childhood in Port Kembla before gaining immense popularity with his unique brand of country music.

Chad Reed (b. 1982)

Chad Reed is a professional motocross and supercross racer from Australia. He was born in Kurri Kurri, New South Wales, and later moved to Port Kembla. Reed has enjoyed a successful career, winning multiple championships and becoming one of the most accomplished Australian riders in motocross history.

Paul McGregor (b. 1968)

Paul McGregor is a former professional rugby league player and coach. He was born in Fairfield, New South Wales, and grew up in Port Kembla. McGregor had a distinguished playing career, representing Australia and New South Wales, and later went on to coach the St George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League (NRL).

Julia Banks (b. 1956)

Julia Banks is an Australian politician who served as a member of the Australian House of Representatives from 2016 to 2019. Banks was born in Port Kembla and grew up in the area. She was affiliated with several political parties throughout her career and advocated for various social issues.

John Aloisi (b. 1976)

John Aloisi is a former Australian professional footballer and current football coach. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, he spent a significant part of his childhood in Port Kembla. Aloisi had a successful career playing for numerous clubs, including the Australian national team, and later transitioned into coaching.
